Taba

A small town in the north of Egypt, in the region known as the Red Sea Riviera and bordering Israel, Taba is a favourite holiday destination not just for Brits, but fellow Egyptians too. It is the most northern holiday resort in Egypt and is certainly one of the most sought after.

Like several resorts in Egypt, Taba offers superb diving facilities and immaculate, upmarket hotels. However, it is unique in that it offers travellers the opportunity to cross over from Taba to Eliat, in Israel, so you can in effect, explore two countries.

The tourist area known as Taba Heights, around 20km south of Taba, is very modern, boasting several beautiful sandy beaches, a desert style golf course and a wide variety of marine life including turtles and dolphins.

The scenery around Taba Heights in particular is awe-inspiring, with the Sinai mountain range and desert sweeping serenely to the Red Sea.

Although more appropriate for those looking for a relatively peaceful holiday, there are many late deals for tourists looking for a year round retreat to the sun or perhaps for diving fans, eager to experience the beautiful clear waters and stunning aquatic life of the Red Sea.
