Marmaris

Only around a 90 minute transfer time from Dalaman airport, Marmaris is a beautiful port on the Mediterranean coast, in the southwest region of Turkey. It is one of the UK’s most popular destinations, particularly with those looking for an all inclusive holiday.

Although it is now a major tourist resort, Marmaris still retains most of its beautiful surrounding countryside. It is extremely popular with its sailing fraternity, having two large and several smaller marinas.

There is plenty to do here, both in the daytime and in the evening. The bazaar is particularly well known, with bargains to be had on clothing, jewellery and furnishings – and of course you’ll be expected to haggle! In addition, there are a plethora of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants ensuring that you’ll be well fed and entertained. The night life here is some of the best in Turkey, particularly on the sea front. Nightclubs, bars and eateries abound but the shops and cafes also stay open late, catering for families.

The small, lively beach gives a fantastic view of the surrounding area, and day trips to Rhodes, if you fancy a little island hopping. Most resorts have their own entertainment programme if you feel like staying a little closer to home, with the ever-popular kids’ clubs making sure the children can play safely whilst you relax around the pool or on the beach.
