Cuba

Renowned for its love of music, colour, and life in general, Cuba and its residents have enjoyed a steadily rising increase in tourists, year on year. Over two million holidaymakers now come here each year – most staying at designated resorts in Varadero, Cayo Coco and Havana.

Temperatures here can reach up to 91°, ideal for sunbathers, who take full advantage of the clean, sandy beaches and divers who enjoy the calm, clear waters around the coastline.

Entertainment in the evening is principally hotel-based, although there are plenty of salsa venues and bars in the larger towns and cities such as Havana.

Holguin Province encompasses around 50 beaches along a 25 mile stretch of coastline. With beautiful aquamarine, calm waters and coral reefs, they are nothing short of perfection.

Old Holguin city itself is renowned for its beautiful parks, architecture and winding streets. There are many cathedrals, museums and historic landmarks to explore, as well as bars, shops and restaurants.

Guardalavaca beach, around 500 miles east of Havana, is over half a mile long, and together with Esmeralda beach, shares around 40 scuba diving sites. Other activities are also available however, including tennis and horse riding.

Holidaymakers, particularly those who are on all-inclusive holidays, are encouraged to leave their beautiful resort at least once during the week, to take a look at the real Cuba, and what it has to offer. This is truly a very distinct, unique island.
